Free communication

Veterinary Business Firenze 2026

The objective

This year, for the first time, the Veterinary Business Conference in Florence will feature a dedicated session for Free Communications, with the aim of showcasing and sharing real initiatives that professionals are implementing within their own veterinary practices.

The aim is to share best practices, management innovations, organizational changes, and new services that create a positive impact and can inspire other veterinary clinics.

Who can participate

Professionals working in veterinary facilities (managers, veterinarians, veterinary assistants, practice managers, and administrators).

Professionals working for companies that exclusively provide consulting and services to veterinary clinics.

Registration for the conference is not required to submit a Free Communication. However, selected authors will be required to register, and registration will be free of charge.

What kind of experiences are we looking for?

The presentations should describe initiatives that have led to a tangible improvement in the clinic where they were implemented. Particular consideration will be given to those that meet one or more of the following criteria:

Improvement of the work environment or internal culture

New approaches to organizing meetings, workplace well-being, teamwork, internal culture, and communication.

Process optimization

Operational efficiency, reduced turnaround times, improved workflows, more streamlined protocols, and increased client/patient satisfaction.

Innovation in management or services

New services, tools, procedures, or innovative approaches.

Improving the clinic’s profitability or sustainability

Changes that have generated a positive economic impact or contributed to long-term sustainability.

Measurable impact

Evidence of the change is required, such as data, performance indicators, qualitative results, or feedback from the team or clients.

We are not looking for theoretical concepts or future proposals, but for initiatives that have already been implemented and have produced real results.

Evaluation

Proposals will be evaluated using a scoring system (on a scale of 1–5 for each item) based on the following criteria:

Relevance to the veterinary sector

Relevance and potential for implementation in other clinics

General interest

Relevance of the topic and its impact on the veterinary community.

Novelty / originality

An innovative approach or creative improvement compared with standard practices.

Clarity and quality of the presentation

Structure, coherence, language, and ability to effectively communicate the experience.

Feasibility and sustainability

Potential to sustain the initiative over time and/or replicate it elsewhere.

In addition, any potential conflicts of interest or ethical considerations will be assessed where relevant.
